What to do if you do not pass your threshold
assessment.
Stages:
- E-mail
or Phone the Division Secretary 01284 763980
- Use "BACK" to get back to this page as you go
through this list:
- Download the DfEE Document
Guidance
for teachers who have not yet met all the threshold standards
- Download the DfEE
guidance
for headteachers (important for you to see what Heads should be
doing)
- Download an
Application
form for Review of Threshold Assessment.review application form.
- If you have problems finding the right page on the DfEE
site, try their
Threshold
Index Page.
- Get back to the Division Secretary for advice in
completing your review application.
- If the review assessment confirms the headteacher's
decision, you may still be able to appeal against discrimination by the
review assessor. Contact the Union after checking the DfES website
information.
The Headteacher must give you written feedback on why you
did not pass the threshold within 4 calendar weeks of the assessment being
communicated to you. You then have 40 working days to submit a review
application. The review will take up to 70 days.
Make sure you discuss everything with your NUT
Secretary.
If you wish to re-apply in 2001, see
guidance for threshold 2001. In many cases, you
will have to re-apply before you know the outcome of any review!
